Father, It’s Your Daughter, Victoriana
Father, it’s me.
Your daughter, Victoriana.
I don’t know how to put into words
the love I have for You.
I only know that I’ve loved You since I was a little girl,
and even now, when I praise Your name,
my heart fills until the tears fall.
There is something about You, Father.
Something about knowing I am Yours.
That the God who created the heavens
knows my name,
knows my heart,
and loves me as His daughter.
You knew me before the world did.
You knew every hair upon my head,
every tear I would cry,
every prayer I would whisper.
Nothing about me has ever been hidden from You,
and still, You love me.
When I was baptized,
I was blessed with faith like Daniel
all the days of my life.
I have carried those words in my heart, Lord,
and I pray I always will.
Because my faith is not just something I believe in.
It is part of who I am.
You are not simply the God I worship.
You are my Father.
And I am Your daughter.
There are people who don’t care to know me.
There are people who know the depths of my heart
and love me anyway.
But You, Father, know me completely.
I never have to wonder if You love me.
Your Word tells me so.
You are the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine
to find the one.
The Father who welcomes His children home.
The One I can run to without fear,
the One before whom I never have to pretend.
And I want You to know, Father,
that I am fully Yours.
My heart is Yours.
My soul is Yours.
My life, my faith, my love
all of me belongs to You.
I love You with everything I am,
even with the parts of me
that cannot find the words to say it.
And yes, Father,
I long for the day I see You face to face.
But I have five little lives entrusted to me,
so give me the strength to stay,
to raise them, to love them,
and to teach them about the Father
who has loved their mother all her life.
Let me grow old still praising You,
still weeping when I speak Your name,
still carrying the faith I was blessed with
when I was just a little girl.
And when my work here is done,
let me come home to You.
Until then, Father,
hold Your daughter close.
Remind me whose I am
when the world makes me forget.
Remind me that I am loved
when life feels unkind.
And help me live every remaining day
as a daughter who knows
she belongs to her Father.
I am Yours, Lord.
Not halfway.
Not only when life is easy.
Not only when I understand.
All of me. Always.
I love You, Father,
with all my heart,
all my soul,
and every part of me.
And if there is one thing I want You to know,
though I know You already know my heart,
it is this:
I am so grateful to be Your daughter.
Father, it’s me.
Your daughter, Victoriana.
I love You.
Amen.
